Edible. See Pg. 271 "Mushrooms of Ontario and Eastern Canada". Cap and stem waxy yellow, shiny, Cap convex to flat, often finely striped, dry 2 - 3 cm across. Gills running downwards, broad almost triangular shape, yellow. Stalk 2 - 3 cm high, hollow, uneven in strength, often bent or pinched together. Colour is the same as the hat, paler near the bottom. Meat is yellow/white Smells faintly sweet Can be found in autumn on meadows and shallows.
