The April 25th meeting is the MST's Annual General Meeting. At the AGM, the business of the previous year is reviewed, resolutions for the upcoming year are decided, and MST members elect the incoming Board of Directors.
The society has many more members than this time last year, and all members have a voice and a vote - so if you're interested in influencing the activities and the future direction of the MST, please attend!
As always, MST meetings are held at the Toronto Botanical Gardens, located at the southwest corner of Leslie St. and Lawrence Ave. East in Toronto, at 7:45pm.
Copies of George Barron's recently-reprinted field guide Mushrooms of Ontario and Eastern Canada will be on sale at the meeting. This is the MST's recommended field guide for Ontario and has been very hard to find in past years. We'll also have MST whistles, stickers and buttons available!
Simona Margaritescu's presentation A First Glance at Fungal Diversity in the Brazilian Amazon is now available to MST members to watch on the meetings video page.
Simona Margaritescu is the Mycology Technician in the Department of Natural History at the Royal Ontario Museum. She manages the ROM’s fungal herbarium (TRTC) and is responsible for the operations of the Mycology Molecular Laboratory.
The MST is pleased to announce the 2015 Fall Mushroom Dinner, upcoming on November 19th. Price per person is $50 including taxes & gratuity. The menu and other details are available and MST members can make reservations online now.
Due to the demand for this event, early reservations are requested. Mycological Society membership entitles 2 people to attend: 2 family members, or a single member and a guest. Other non-member attendance will be considered after November 12th, space permitting.
