A BioBlitz brings together taxonomic experts, citizen scientists and the general public to inventory all species (plants, animals, fungi and more) in a particular area over a 24 hour period. Participants record all the organisms they find, then experts verify their identity. As the Blitz proceeds and after it is done, the species records are compiled into a single data set: the species list, which provides a snapshot of the biodiversity in that location on that date.
The main mushroom hunting will happen on the morning of the 11th.

MST Program Director Michael Warnock was a huge hit and kept a full house entertained at Nerd Nite Toronto on April 14th with his talk on Mushrooms and Video Games.

The MST is pleased to announce the 2016 Spring Mushroom Dinner, upcoming on May 16th. Price per person is $55 including taxes & gratuity. The menu and details are available and MST members can make reservations online now.
Due to the demand for this event, early reservations are requested. Mycological Society membership entitles 2 people to attend: 2 family members, or a single member and a guest. Other non-member attendance will be considered after May 4th, space permitting.
