2023 Cain Foray cultivation workshop
Join Storm Peschel, lead mycologist at Flow Mycological Sciences to prepare a bucket of Pleurotus ostreatus (Oyster Mushroom) to take home from the 2023 Cain Foray.
Sunday September 17th, 2023, 11:00 am at the Cain Foray
$60 per mushroom bucket. Registration fee includes bucket and all supplies.
We will begin the workshop with a presentation to discuss the essentials of cultivating fungi, and some methods you can put into practice at home.
Then we will proceed outside where you will be provided with everything you need to inoculate a 5 gallon bucket with Oyster Mushroom mycelium. You will learn best practices, as well as some common misconceptions about growing mushrooms. There will be a chance to ask Storm any questions you might have.
You will take home your inoculated bucket to fruit at home. Many times one bucket will produce up to 3 flushes, or harvests, yielding a few pounds.

This workshop is limited to participants in the 2023 Cain Foray. There will be a maximum of 25 mushroom buckets available at the workshop. A minimum of 10 mushroom buckets must be registered in order for the workshop to be held (if the workshop is cancelled, you'll be refunded your workshop registration fee). Cancellations of workshop registrations by participants are subject to the Cain Foray cancellation policy.
