Glasshead. Hycrocybe ceracea Wulf. Edible. Hygrocybe cercea. See Pg. 271 “Mushrooms of Ontario”.
Cap and stem waxy yellow , shiny, Cap conves to flat, often finely striped, dry 2 - 3 cm across. Gills running downwards, broad almost triangular shape,yellow. Stalk 2 - 3 cm high, hollow, uneven in strength, often bent or pinched together. Calour is the same as the hat, pler near the bottom. Meat is yellow/white Smells faintly sweet Can be found in autumn on meadows and shallows.
