I have converted a small 6 foot x 6 foot shaded area of my garden into a sort of, “woodlot” for mushrooms. It’s a dark corner where nothing really grew and fits in well as a place to dump any excess yard waste from the rest of the yard. This is basically an experiment as I have zero experience growing mushrooms, but I already see results after less than 2 months after “seeding”. I bought a bunch of spores/seeds from amazon, made some wood logs and buried a few types in the corners and center of the lot. The varieties were button, shiitake, maitake (hen of the woods) and yellow chartelle. I’m not sure when theses guys appeared, or what they are, but I just saw them on June 13, and will continue to take pictures as they grow.. Any advice/tips/etc is much appreciated.
