Granular Dotted Bolete
Granular Dotted Bolete -

See Pg. 174 (Boletes) "Mushrooms of Ontario".

Caps are globelike, or flat round, brown/yellowish with a slimy easily removed skin on top. Spores are attached, yellow. Stem is finger high and thick, it is stiff full and the upper portion is punctuated with small dots. The flesh is unchangeable yellow, juicy and has a pleasant fruity taste. Grows plentifully in summer in rich wooded areas and grassy places. It is easy prey - just like the cow mushroom - for maggots.
