An hour-long fun, informative, and family-friendly introduction to fungi and their role in the environment. No special equipment is needed other than weather-appropriate clothing.

Introduction to Field Identification walks

Small group walks to demonstrate types of fungi, how their features are used to identify them, and how to use field guides and online tools. A field guide is recommended.
In order to attend Introduction to Field Identification walks members must attend and check in to at least 1 Welcome to Mycology walk and complete a short online test.

Longer independent forays for members with some experience at independent identification, with an expert to assist and confirm identifications.
In order to attend Intermediate Field Identification forays members must attend and check in to at least 2 Introduction to Field Identification walks and complete a short online test.
