Newsletter Policy

Purpose:

The purpose of this policy is to define the nature and properties of the offical newsletter of the MST.

Policy:

1. Newsletter
   1. The MST publishes a newsletter that provides information about the activities of the MST and presents topical and interesting information and news about mycology and related subjects.
   2. The name of the newsletter is the Mycelium.
   3. The newsletter is published four times a year.
   4. The newsletter is prepared and distributed by the Editor, who with the approval of the Board may form a newsletter committee to assist with the preparation and distribution activities.
   5. The Editor is responsible for all content of the newsletter.
   6. The Editor may, with the approval of the Board, arrange for payment for technical services or material required for the preparation and distribution of the newsletter.
   7. The newsletter is sent free of charge in electronic form to all memberships of the MST, and to all its scientific advisors.
   8. The newsletter is sent to other mycological societies or societies in North America in exchange for the newsletter of these societies or organizations.
   9. Complimentary copies of the newsletter may be sent to other individuals or organizations at the discretion of the Board.
   10. Advertising of items related to mushrooms and mycology is accepted in the newsletter.
   11. Advertising rates and conditions are set by the Board and may be published in the newsletter. These rates and conditions may be changed at the discretion of the Board.
   12. The acceptability of submitted advertising, the space and layout devoted to it shall be at the discretion of the Editor
   13. The Editor may appoint assistant editors with the approval of the Board.
   14. An assistant editor may assume any or all duties of the Editor at the discretion of the Board.
