Code of Conduct Policy

Purpose:

By requiring adherence to a Code of Conduct, MST strives to help its Members and their families, volunteers and guests to feel safe, comfortable and respected.

Definitions:

Code The Code of Conduct of the MST.
Board The Board of Directors of the MST.

Policy:

  1. Adherance to the Code of Conduct
    1. The MST requires all members to read and abide by the Code. In the case of Family memberships, the adults will explain the Code to minors in terms that are age-appropriate.
  2. Breaches of the Code of Conduct
    1. The MST has the right to take action with respect to alleged breaches of the Code, including suspension and/or termination of membership.
    2. The MST will endeavour to deal confidentially and consistently with alleged breaches of the Code.
    3. The Board may designate a Conduct Review Committee to review complaints, and where necessary investigate and make suitable recommendations, regarding remedy and membership status as set out in the relevant procedure.
    4. Membership cannot be terminated or relationships severed over a breach of the Code without the prior approval of the Board.
    5. An individual whose membership is terminated on the basis of a breach of the Code has the right to appeal subject to the membership policy.
    6. A permanent record will be kept of all alleged breaches of the Code, the investigation and outcome, and the results of any subsequent appeal process.
